Welcome Home

The summer of 2012 will mark Tamarack Camps’ 110th Anniversary and as we approach this remarkable milestone, we are looking to reconnect with those who have made this beloved camp truly remarkable.

Whether you’re a past camper from Brighton, Ortonville or a travel trip; or a past counselor, supervisor, tripper or specialist; this is your camp and you are part of the same Tamarack family that has existed for almost 110 years. And while Tamarack has grown over the years the age-old traditions of Joe Krepsy, the Swamp Walk, Circus Day, Senior Side and many, many more remain.

For some of us, Tamarack was the place where you lit your first Havdalah candle, where you went on that first canoeing trip, or had that first kiss. For others, Tamarack was the place where you started life-long friendships, rode a horse for the first time, or became closer to Israel. No matter where you are today, Tamarack will always be your home away from home.

Stay Connected!

In the spirit of our 110th Anniversary, whether you’re near or far, we’d like to bring Tamarack closer to you! Now, it is easier than ever to reconnect with Tamarack and your old friends.

  • Reunions – Some of you have had them as soon as you got off the bus at the end of the summer, and some continue to have them decades later. It’s never too late to have a reunion. Contact us at tamarack@tamarackcamps.com for more information.
  • Social Media – We’ve come a long way since the days of when telegrams and letters were the only ways to stay in touch.
    • Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn or subscribe to the NEW Tamarack Nation e-newsletter to keep up on our 110th anniversary celebrations, news and events.
    • Post your pictures, share your memories and find your old friends by tagging our pictures on Facebook.
    • Send us your current contact information (Email, address, etc.) or the contact information of your friends to gneistein@tamarackcamps.com so we can keep in touch with you.
  • Gatherings – Even in this day and age, some of us still prefer to get together face-to-face with old friends to share pictures and memories. Tamarack wants to help you make this happen. Contact, Laura Adler at adler@tamarackcamps.com if you’re interested in hosting a gathering of your own.

Help Keep The Tamarack Tradition Going Strong

Studies have shown that a Jewish camping experience has the biggest impact in molding a child’s Jewish identity. Your gift will dramatically impact the future of our Jewish community.   Visit our Donor Page to make a contribution or tribute, set up an Endowment Fund, view our Wish List or make a donation.

You’re Never Too Old To Come Back To Camp

Browse our website to find out about our family programs. From September to May, we help organize community Family Camps, over winter break you can ring in the New Year camp style at New Year’s Family Camp and during the summer, send the kids to camp with Grandma & Grandpa at Bubbie-Zaydie Camp.
